Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 10, 2026

1. Overview

RigDesk ("we," "us," or "our") takes your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. By using RigDesk, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: name, email address, password, phone number
  • Shop information: business name, address, phone, logo
  • Business data: customer records, vehicle records, work orders, invoices, estimates, quotes, parts inventory, and job photos
  • Financial records: expenses, revenue figures, and profit & loss data you enter or that the Service derives from your records
  • Team member information: names, email addresses, and roles
  • Workforce and payroll data: employee time clock entries (clock in/out times, breaks, and lunches), hourly pay rates, commissions, overtime calculations, and closed pay period summaries
  • Payment information: processed by Stripe — we do not store raw card numbers

Your customers' information

When you enter your own customers' details (names, contact information, vehicle records) into RigDesk, we process that information on your behalf to provide the Service — for example, emailing an estimate for approval or sending a marketing campaign you create. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to enter and use your customers' information. Marketing emails sent through RigDesk always include an unsubscribe link, and we honor those opt-outs automatically.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, actions taken within the app
  • Device information: browser type, operating system, IP address
  • Log data: server logs, error reports, performance data

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the RigDesk platform
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Calculate hours, overtime, and payroll summaries from time clock records you and your team create
  • Send transactional emails (invoices, estimates, team invites, reminders)
  • Send marketing emails to your customers on your behalf, when you create campaigns using the Marketing Suite
  • Provide customer support
  • Monitor system security and prevent fraud
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve features

We do not use your business data (customer records, work orders, etc.) for advertising purposes.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Supabase — our database and authentication provider
  • Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions
  • Resend — transactional and marketing email delivery
  • Vercel — hosting and infrastructure
  • Crisp — in-app support chat
  • Sentry — error monitoring and diagnostics

These third parties are contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it to provide services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • TLS/HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • Encrypted data storage at rest
  • Row-level security ensuring your data is isolated from other shops
  • Authentication token management via Supabase

While we work hard to protect your data, no system is 100% secure. If you discover a security issue, please contact us at support@rigdesk.net immediately.

6. Employee & Payroll Data

RigDesk stores time clock records, pay rates, commissions, and payroll summaries for shops that use those features. Access to this information is restricted by role:

  • Employees can see only their own hours, commissions, and estimated pay
  • Pay rates and payroll amounts are visible only to shop owners, managers the owner designates, and accountant seats
  • Edits to time records are logged with who made the change, when, and why; closed pay periods are locked against modification

The shop (your employer, if you are a team member) controls this data and is responsible for its accuracy and for complying with applicable employment record-keeping laws. If you are an employee with questions about your records, contact your shop's owner first; you may also reach us at support@rigdesk.net.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data remains accessible until the end of your billing period and is retained for 90 days thereafter before permanent deletion. You may request early deletion by contacting support@rigdesk.net.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Opt out of non-essential communications

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@rigdesk.net.

9. Cookies

RigDesk uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session and improve your experience. These are strictly necessary for the app to function. Our support chat (Crisp) sets its own cookies to keep your conversation history. We do not use advertising cookies.

10. Children's Privacy

RigDesk is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn we have collected information from a child, we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or a notice within the app. Your continued use of RigDesk after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
